About the Author
Patty Morell Bilhartz is licensed as an M.D. in the states of California and Texas, and works in a busy clinic in Northern California. She is board-certified by the American College of Preventive Medicine, with a specialty in Occupational Medicine. Dr. Bilhartz graduated from Texas A&M Medical School, completed an Internship in Internal Medicine at Scott & White Hospital in Temple, TX, and a specialty residency in Preventive Medicine, Public Health, and Environmental and Occupational Medicine at the University of Texas at Tyler Health Science Center. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the Texas A&M Health Science Center School of Public Health, and a Certificate in “Botanicals and Health” from the University of Arizona Program in Integrative Medicine. She has done extensive study on preventive health, including specialty areas in lifestyle changes and hormone replacement therapy. Dr. Bilhartz is a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society, the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, and the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine. Before Dr. Bilhartz became a physician, she was a music teacher, and obtained a Master of Arts degree in music from Sam Houston State University. Dr. Bilhartz enjoys reading, gardening, and practicing yoga in her spare time. She and her husband, Terry, find great satisfaction in spending time with their children and grandchildren, and taking long walks in nature.
